walking one mile, not very fast

walking one mile, gah, it's so humid but not terribly hot at least.

walking a mile today and I did it faster, got to the turnaround point before I had time to think about how far I'd gone. damn it's frickin' hot out there.

walking omg walking! someone please tattoo on my forehead that I feel *so* much better after exercising, no matter if it's hot or cold or whatever excuse I make up! only a mile but again such a 98 pound weakling (although not actually 98 pounds of course). pleasantly surprised tho at how well I did, no huffing or puffing and I made it the whole mile without feeling like I wanted to die or turn back early. I also managed to time it just right so I was out just after the sun went below the houses on the west but still plenty of light.

walking a mile! a whole mile! omg, I am such a 98 pound weakling! but with daylight savings time starting earlier this year, I shall persevere and get back what I've lost.

biking for the first time since I fell on my knee last August, I felt better awhile back but then I was working too much but home early, weather is gorgeous, 80 degrees, I did about a mile and a half at a nice easy pace.

walking about 3/4 of a mile this evening just to get out a bit, too many cars tho, coming back from the fireworks.

biking my usual two miles, getting awfully hot out already

biking I think I went riding this evening (writing this the following week) but I'm not entirely sure, my neck and shoulders may have still been bothering me

biking back to my usual two miles this evening, really nice out, a bit humid but very little wind which made it easier to get going again.

biking a mile and a half to the library

biking my usual two miles plus another mile to the library and the post office

biking my usual two miles although I overshot and went all the way up to 11th, nasty busy street, never again! gorgeous weather, beautiful day.

biking my usual two miles, beautiful day, sunny but only about 70, gorgeous.

biking ah, back to my usual two miles and it's so nice, just enjoying the brisk (if damp) air and the cloudy skies keeping the sun out of my eyes.

biking A furious sprint to get to the library before it closes at six only to find out that it stays open till 8pm on Mondays and Thursdays...

biking my usual two miles and it felt so nice to be back in routine instead of to the bike shop and back again and back again and back again...cold but really nice out.

biking about 4 1/2 miles today, over to the bike store to get a second basket and the rear brake adjusted, then up around 10th and down the main street to check out bus stops, then over to the 11th St Cafe for dinner and back home.

biking about a mile on the way home from the bike store, bike all spiffied up, new lights back and front and got a basket on the side too, going back tomorrow to get another basket for the other side and also get the back brakes adjusted, one is rubbing up against the tire slightly.

biking about a mile on the way to drop off my bike at the bike store for the tune-up (they didn't get it done last week since the two guys who run the place got food poisoning!)

biking only about a mile and a half down Whiteoak since it was dark and that's the best lighted street around here.

biking only a mile tonight since the bus was really late and it was dark and I still had to get to the bike shop - getting a tune up so I can shift gears again!

biking feels like ten miles, it was probably only about 2 or 3, going to the bank to deposit my paycheck, but there was just enough of an incline to make my legs burn.

biking three miles today, going by the post office and library along the way since my car's broken, also picked up a bike lock so I can bike somewhere to eat on weekends.

biking my usual two miles around my neighborhood

biking my usual two miles plus I rode the bus so I got my walking in too. I guess my rotten job is good for one thing, all the stress, both mental and on my neck and shoulders from the crappy desk/chair arrangement means I race home to ride my bike so I feel better!

biking my usual two miles, cold but still nice, cloudy gray the way I like it, ticked off at my stupid boss, I really needed a good ride to burn off the stress. I also stopped to see the closing time on the bike shop that's just opened up in my neighborhood so I can check it out later this week.

biking back to my usual two miles, my shoulders are still a bit stiff, need to build them up more to get rid of the stress that tenses them up. I seem to have lost my ability to navigate by habit tho, I missed two turns tonight, had to double back to get to my regular route.

biking no I didn't stop doing anything, I began riding the bus to work and walking from the park and ride lot to the office and it was just too damn hot last August/September to ride my bike and then it was too dark after daylight savings ended. But I started again today, rode two miles and feel good, it's nice to know that I didn't lose all the progress I made last year. See my blog entry, There's exercise and then there's the real thing for why I realized I need to do this.

biking 6th to 10th with some extra up and downs to make 2.5 miles, I figure I need to just do more and besides, gotta work off those blueberry pancakes with butter and syrup that I had for lunch after a really sucky Monday morning at work.

biking all the way up to 11th this time but too much traffic, so I'll stick my usual 6th to 10th from now on.

biking up and down and up and down 6th to 10th, my usual two miles.

biking 6th to 10th, two miles, sounds boring here, but still not for me, pretty houses, pretty cats, pretty gardens so it's still fun to do.

biking two miles, 6th to 10th, I suspect my allergies are kicking in again, all the humidity and rain making everything moldy and that's why I've been feeling so tired lately.

biking up and down and up and down 6th to 10th, allergies bothering me, I think, just really tired this last week plus all the really nasty humidity.

biking my usual two miles, bit humid today but still cool

biking round my usual 2 miles, lovely cooler weather finally with all the rain, I rode just before the storm came in

biking two miles, 6th to 10th in 20 minutes, working on getting it down to 15 minutes

biking 2 miles, 6th to 10th, lovely coolness from the rain we've had this week, pushed myself to do it in 20 minutes instead of my usual slow 30 minutes.

biking 2 miles, up and down 6th to 10th, lovely wind from the storm blowing in, smell of rain in the air!

biking got up too early so like a fool, went biking in the morning, 2 miles, 6th to 10th, never realized I could fall asleep while pedaling, never doing this again, I am not a morning person and I learned never do it on garbage pickup day, too many stinky overflowing trash cans!

biking 2 miles, damn hot, up and down 6th to 10th

biking two miles on my 6th to 10th roundabout

biking the usual two miles from 6th to 10th

biking two miles up and down 6th to 10th. damn hot, even at 8 pm.

biking two miles 6th to 10th up and down

biking up and down and up and down, my 2 mile 6th to 10th trip.

biking up and down my 6th to 10th one mile ride, even tho the sun was down, it was still hot and very humid, nasty summer is here.

biking okay let's try this again, see if I can get back on track because I'm really noticing that I'm hitting the snooze alarm more and feeling more tired since I haven't been riding my bike regularly, so back to my 6th to 10th one mile ride

biking a lovely cool twilight ride from 6th to 10th up and down and up and down. So good to be back out again, now if I can just stop catching colds for the rest of this year!

biking my usual 2 mile 6th to 10th and back bit. beautiful day out, getting a bit warm but still nice enough.

biking my two mile up-down, up-down on 6th to 10th, got home late but I really want to get back on a regular schedule so I went out before it completely dark.

biking to the bicycle track at White Oak Bayou, about four miles and my arms and wrists are killing me.

biking my usual 6th to 10th twice around 2 miles. very windy today, fresh air felt good and it made me work harder too.

biking 50 miles, well it felt like it! more like about ten or twelve miles and up several very small hills that seemed like mountains to me (as well as downhill, that part I liked!) with stepdad, he's a good influence, always wears me out and this was much more fun than hiking up and down the concrete sides of the bayou.

walking yes, actually walking, it was too windy to ride my bike today, big gusts that will stop me cold so I went walking, 1 1/4 miles from 6th to 11th and yowza do I need to do this more often in addition to riding my bike, my ankles are killing me.

biking my up/down thing from 6th to 10th, did an extra set so three miles today. Rather icky hazy day but still good to get out.

biking my usual 2 mile twice around 6th to 10th. For the first time in my life, I'll be glad when daylight savings kicks in this week so it'll still be light at 7pm.

biking my 6th to 10th twice around 2 mile trip, up in the 80's today, still beautiful, we're having the most amazing spring here this year.

biking from 6th to 10th to 6th to 10th to 6th, about two miles! Back on the Claritin-D since this weekend and I think I'm finally getting used to working 40 hours a week again, not as tired and able to breathe deeply without breaking into a coughing fit (I hate being sick!) Lovely weather, in the 70's, bit of a breeze, moon already risen on my right and sun setting on my left.

biking from 6th to 10th, just barely, I guess I'm still whacked by working full time again and the bitterly wet cold north wind in my face just didn't help a bit. It's supposed to be a bit warmer this weekend and I'll get out and see if I can at least get to 11th again.

walking well, hiking is more like it, with my stepdad, over to the bayou with the dogs, down the concrete sides and then dragging one of the dogs out of the bayou, just plain wore me out! beautiful weather tho, up in the 80's, more like summer.
events AidsWalkHouston I didn't make it to this, the first week at my new job just completely wore me out and I spent the weekend catching up on my sleep. For those kind people who donated money, it did go to the AidsWalk, along with my own donation.

biking from 6th to 11th to 6th to 10th to 6th - it's dark out so I zigzagged to avoid crossing busy streets at night but I had to work out the kinks of my new job sitting at a desk all day doing data entry, my neck and shoulders were terribly tight. I've got much more energy these days, I did just over 2 miles, pedaling strongly the whole way and no breaks waiting for traffic to clear but I'm not as winded and worn out as I was even a couple weeks ago and my wrists and elbows feel much better too.

biking from 6th to 18th street again, absolutely gorgeous afternoon, smell of the earlier rains in the air, everything all washed clean and fresh, sun poking thru clouds, bit of a breeze, just beautiful!

biking from 6th to 18th! I only intended to go to 14th but I felt good and it's a gorgeous day and I had a southern wind at my back so I decided to go to 17th, then found myself at 18th before I realized it. So about three miles, a new personal best for me.

biking just from 7th to 11th since it's late at night but I had to get out and get some exercise to dispel the stress that's built up over the last couple days and hopefully I'll sleep better tonight.

biking from 6th to 14th, pushing hard the whole way. beautiful day, sunny, cool, just gorgeous!

biking from 7th to 14th! in the cold and wet and I literally couldn't have gone another block but it felt so good to be getting back on schedule.

biking from 6th to 11th. I got knocked on my butt last Friday with chills and fever and coughing and it felt so good to be out again, breathing deeply, pushing against the northern wind. I'm still a bit congested but this should help get rid of the remaining crud in my lungs.

biking from 7th to 17th! 20 blocks altogether so about 2.5 miles, I think. going fairly fast, not much coasting, my arms are tired but hurt less so they're getting stronger and still gorgeous weather, sunny, cool, bit of wind.

biking from 7th to 4th (feed mom's animals) then from 4th to 11th and back to 7th. absolutely gorgeous weather! sunny, a bit of wind, still cool, around 80 degrees, perfect! pedaled faster, harder, wrists and elbows still hurting but getting better.

walking from my house to mom's to feed cats, dogs and fish (eight blocks total). cool, dry, I'm just not real energetic today but I will ride my bike tomorrow since it's supposed to rain bunches on Sunday.

biking from 7th to 13th street, I just couldn't go that one extra block to 14th, wind was against me and I am tired (effects of PMS). But the weather is great for biking, chilly and it felt good on my bare arms, waking me up and sweeping away the stuffiness of indoor conditioned air.

biking from 7th to 14th street. heavy rain that morning but only very light rain when I was out, overcast and cooler but not cold, felt really good. my arms didn't bother me as much, wrists still hurt but this ride was much easier than just two days ago.

biking from 7th to 14th street. nice day, cool but partly sunny and dry. by the halfway point, my arms and wrists were killing me - I should have been carrying weights when I was walking the last three weeks to prepare my upper body for riding my bike again.

walking with Nimrod from I-10 (3rd) to Whiteoak (6th). cold, fairly dry.

walking by myself from 7th to 11th street - fast. rainy, windy, cold, nasty, had to avoid getting poked in the eye by kids with umbrellas getting out of school.

walking with Andi and Nimrod from 4th to 11th street. Friday again and it just seems sooooo hard!

walking with Andi from 4th to 11th street with a detour to my house because the insole in my left shoe was slipping, all bunched up so I changed to my black shoes and it was easier to walk much faster.

walking with Andi from 4th to 11th street.

walking with Andi and Nimrod from 4th to 11th street. is it just because it's Friday that makes it so much harder?

walking with Andi from 4th to 11th street. cool and dry, dark too, took about 50-52 minutes. measured distance in my car afterwards, 1.8 miles.

walking with Andi from 4th to 11th street, took us about 55 minutes. cool and dry, although we went late so dark most of the way.
